Board and accommodation Print

The Benediktushof has a number of room categories on offer. However, regardless of category, all our rooms are of a simple, no-nonsense design. Single and double rooms have their own toilet and shower. There are also small dormitories with shared washing facilities.

If you let us know what kind of room you’d prefer, we’ll do our best to accommodate you, depending on what rooms are still available. However, we may not always be able to allocate you the category of room you requested, therefore please let us know if we can also assign you a category either above or below the one you requested. Your allocated room becomes available from 3 p.m.on the first day of your course.

The Benediktushof kitchens prepare all meals in the spirit of the centre. We like to support the practice of mindfulness, with meals beginning punctually and being taken in silence, and with all present being mindful to the needs of others sitting near them.

We provide vegetarian whole food meals for our guests, using organic and Fair Trade ingredients. We offer a varied menu, using produce from the region and many herbs and wild plants from our own gardens according to seasonal availability. All meals (breakfast, lunch, afternoon coffee/tea and the evening meal), bread and cakes are prepared by our kitchen staff according to longstanding cooking and baking traditions. On request we can prepare meals for guests with gluten or milk protein allergies.

Clarity, straightforwardness and creativity when cooking give our kitchen a perceptible profile of its own. We uphold a responsible approach to foods, contributing in this way to the spirit of the Benediktushof. To help you cook at home the dishes you have enjoyed here, why not take a look at the Benediktushof recipe book "Wie Zen schmeckt" (The Taste of Zen).

Our book tip “Wie Zen schmeckt” (The Taste of Zen)"

Doris Zölls, the spiritual leader of the Benediktushof, and head cook Christof Zirkelbach have created this inspiring recipe book as an introduction into the art of mindful enjoyment.

The book contains some of the best recipes and most unusual taste combinations coming from the Benediktushof kitchens. Illustrations in Indian ink by Katharina Sheperd-Kobel make the book a feast for the eye as well.
